Ramsay G. Najjar
A veteran of the media and advertising in the Middle East with over 20 years of experience in the communication field, Ramsay Najjar has accompanied a wide range of public and private organizations on the journey of transforming their communication to fulfill their strategic goals, resulting in numerous success stories that are benchmarked and emulated throughout the region.

Today, he continues to shape the regional communication industry and is an authority and reference on communication, whose expertise is widely sought, as well as a regular speaker at the most prominent communication and business conferences.

Najjar has long advocated the role of communication to strengthen the relations between all of society’s components, from citizens to companies and governments. He was amongst the first to identify the role of political communication as a means to foster the ongoing dialogue between citizens and government in the region, raise awareness amongst the public, build confidence and support, change attitudes, opinions and even legislation and revive political life. He has also long foreseen the role that strategic communication can play in bolstering companies’ images and equity, at a time when organizations are increasingly competing to have audiences identify with their brands and are expected, more than ever before, to be socially responsible and play active roles in the communities they serve.

About

Having graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature and Education, Ramsay Najjar began his career as an academic professor before moving into the world of advertising and marketing, where he founded in 1992 his own company in Lebanon in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi, the global, multi-award winning advertising company.

While head of Saatchi & Saatchi Lebanon, the agency went on to elevate the regional advertising industry to unparalleled heights of maturity and professionalism, reaping a vast array of prestigious local and international awards along the way.

He has also been a leader in copywriting and television, creating and producing the most popular Lebanese and Pan Arab televised educational quiz show “Al Moumayazoun”, which scored the highest viewership rating of all television program categories and secured the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation’s (LBCI SAT) top ranking to date, a premiere record.

Additionally, he has conducted numerous studies and analyses of the ad industry including the development of the ethical chart, which was endorsed by and integrated into the by-laws of the Syndicate of Lebanese Advertising Agencies (SLAA). Ramsay is also the former President of the International Advertising Association, Lebanon Chapter and co-founded the Faculty of Advertising at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA)- University of Balmand (UoB).

In 2002, he founded Strategic Communication Consultancy (S2C) with a vision of transforming the region’s communication landscape by offering strategic counsel to multinational and regional corporations, governments and public entities, supporting them in reaping the benefits of a strategic approach to communicating with their various stakeholders, strengthening their relationships with them, helping build more viable public images and immunizing their reputations.

Ramsay Najjar is the author of several books in the fields of philosophy, politics and religion. His latest book, “The Right Not to Remain Silent” was launched in April 2016 in both English and Arabic.
