It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mike Raffoul at the age of 67. A devoted and loving husband to Mona (nee Raheb) with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. A beloved father to Jenny Baselj (Steve), Michael (Mary-Ann), and Robert (Elizabeth). A much adored grandfather to Terissa, Steve and Jonny Baselj, Mikey, Chris, Robbie, Nathan, and Chloe. A proud son of the late George and Annie (nee Gebrail). A cherished brother to Sam (Mae), the late Sister Rafka, Joe (Mona), Marie George (Joe), Maurice (Msahiya), Betty Boutros (Joseph), and John (Marlene). A valued son-in-law of the late Sarkis and Theresa Raheb and respected brother-in-law to Joe Raheb (Melanie) and David Raheb. Mike had many of aunts and uncles and was a special uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. He was a close friend to many people within the Lebanese, Leamington, and Tilbury communities. After 30 years of service, Mike retired from Heinz Company in Leamington. In 1995, he realized his dream by opening and operating a successful gas station business in Tilbury (Mike’s Carwash Variety). Mike will be sorely missed by all of his family, friends and the community. His strength, love for his family, and generous giving nature defined him. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington on Sunday October 16th, 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers at 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Parish, 280 Talbot Street East, Leamington on Monday, October 17th at 10 am. Entombment at Erie Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy in Mike’s honour, donations can be made to the Lebanon families in need fund, Canadian Cancer Society, or St. Anthony’s Parish.
